Outdoor Education at Eustis Estate

Historic New England’s Eustis Estate sits on eighty acres of picturesque landscape at the base of the Blue Hills. 

We’ll spend our days exploring the forests and fields, learning with natureBOPN programs promote children’s physical and mental health, encourage environmental stewardship, and develop habits of mind such as curiosity, initiative, persistence, creativity, problem-solving, and responsibility. 

We give children a joyfully muddy childhood, under the loving guidance of dedicated teachers.

Programs Available at the Eustis Estate

Our programs focus on sensory exploration, honing fine and gross motor skills, and building class community. These nature-immersive classes spark curiosity and concentration, and foster independence in young children.

    Our summer programs offer children time to explore and play outdoors. We encourage imagination and FUN, while embarking on daily adventures with new friends!

    Children learn through play with mixed-age peers, guided by trained educators. This transformative setting—rarely found in today’s world—provides a broad range of emotional and developmental benefits.

About Eustis Estate

Designed by renowned Boston architect W. Ralph Emerson, the Eustis Estate is a rare surviving example of late 19th-century architecture.

All are welcome to wander the sprawling and stunning landscape. Guided and self-directed tours of the Estate are available year-round.

Submitting an inquiry form tells us you’d like to learn more about BOPN. We will email you brief introductory information and help you arrange a tour.

2. Visit:

Touring allows you to see the opportunity to see our philosophy in practice, chat with our experienced nature educators, and enjoy the forests, gardens, and landscapes that BOPN children explore each day. Dress for the weather, and bring your children!

3. Apply:

Submit your enrollment application and fee. Financial assistance is available, and applications for financial aid must be submitted with enrollment applications.

4. Enroll:

Pending availability and admission, you will receive an invitation to enroll. We will provide everything you need to complete the enrollment process online.
