He is thrilled to be part of a team that values creativity, connection, and the joy of learning in nature.
Alex Regan joined BOPN in 2025 with a passion for outdoor early education deeply rooted in a lifelong love of exploration, creativity, and community. Growing up in a historic New England seaside town, Alex spent countless hours immersed in nature, playing in local conservation lands and historic parks. These early adventures sparked a deep appreciation for the natural world, which only grew stronger through formative experiences—hiking with the Boy Scouts in Idaho, New Mexico, and Alaska, and rock climbing with his best friend in Washington and British Columbia.
Alex also has a passion for music. The sounds of Little Richard, The Beatles, and local radio provided the soundtrack to his childhood, shaping his lifelong belief in the power and joy of music.
Alex’s journey in education began in high school, where he spent summers as a camp counselor and cared for many of the same children in after-school programs during the academic year. In 2012, he officially stepped into the role of an early childhood educator, working with children ages 2.9 to 5. Over the years, he developed expertise in child development, curriculum design, and fostering curiosity-driven, child-led environments that prioritize social-emotional learning.
In 2020, Alex co-owned and operated a small business that began as a safe space for families navigating remote learning. What started as a single learning pod quickly grew into a multi-site after-school enrichment program serving families across the North Shore and Greater Boston area. At their core, each program was designed to create environments where children felt seen, valued, and empowered to explore, learn, and grow—an experience that affirmed Alex’s deep commitment to education and creating meaningful environments.
When Alex discovered BOPN, he immediately knew he had found a special place that shared his commitment to meaningful early education. He is thrilled to be part of a team that values creativity, connection, and the joy of learning in nature. He looks forward to learning with the BOPN community each day.
