Kyaralind Vasquez-Liriano, Teacher

Kyaralind is excited to share her experience as a research scientist, and encourage the children’s inquisitiveness and love of the outdoors.

As a Roxbury native, she has been exploring the Arnold Arboretum for many years!

Kyaralind was born and raised in Roxbury, Boston, MA. Growing up, she developed her first connection with nature through seasonal visits with her family to the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. Her favorite activities there were hiking, biking, and sledding.

Kyaralind graduated from Wellesley College in 2023, where she earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies. During college, she studied numerous ecosystems to better understand how science can be applied when addressing the impacts of climate change. In her final year of college, Kyaralind worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Wellesley Community Children’s Center. Here, she realized the importance of interacting—and building a sense of familiarity—with the outdoors, during the early stages of childhood.

Continuing her journey at BOPN, Kyaralind is excited to share her experience as a research scientist, and encourage the children's inquisitiveness and love of the outdoors.

Kyaralind speaks both English and Spanish, and enjoys walking, trying new foods, and karaoke in her free time!
