Outdoor Education at Wolbach Farm

Our Sudbury program is located at Wolbach Farm, the headquarters of Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT).  We spend our days exploring the 54-acre property, which is part of the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge along the Sudbury River.

The forest and meadows of Wolbach Farm are home to wildlife like beaver, muskrat, fisher, and diverse bird species.  Our all-outdoor toddler, preschool, and parent-child classes spark curiosity and connection with nature, while building friendships, community, and resilience that last a lifetime.

โ€œSVT is excited to welcome the young explorers of BOPN to Wolbach Farm. When kids explore trails, find frogs, and swing from branches they ignite their sense of wonder for nature and develop a lifelong love for wildlife and the outdoors. These kiddos will be the next generation of caretakers for our natural world.โ€

Meet Our Educators

We would like to acknowledge  The Sudbury Foundation for their support with teacher professional developmentโ€“to deepen our culture of inquiry and collaborative study.  Reach out to info@bopn.org to learn more about teacher professional development at BOPN.

โ€œBOPN has been an excellent choice for my family.  Both of my children have attended over the last 3 years.  The teacher communication and collaboration goes far above and beyond.  The teachers are always willing to help come up with individual plans for smooth drop off, potty training, snack preferences and social-emotional development.  The program wants to partner with parents and offers free educational sessions to parents and caregivers, which was a HUGE help in our house! Administration is responsive to inquiries and integrates feedback from parents and families.  There is a tremendous sense of community at the school and as a working parent, I felt involved and knew my children were being loved and cared for.  My children have developed a lifelong love for nature, are resilient and have outstanding self-regulation and problem solving skills that I attribute to their time at BOPN.  I am excited for BOPN to open at Wolbach Farm!โ€
