Milton
Forbes House Museum
Our original Milton program is located on the grounds of the historic Forbes House Museum.
This location serves early explorers throughout the year, starting at age 2.0!
The Forbes House sits atop Milton Hill, on the traditional land of the Neponset Tribe of the Indigenous Massachusett people. Now a museum on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was built in 1833 and four generations of the Forbes family called it home.
The museum offers a look into its own rich history, and hosts a diverse range of exhibits and events which are open to the public.
We are thrilled to partner with the Forbes House Museum, as the next chapter in their story unfolds.
Children joining us here will play among the massive beech trees and explore the property’s many gardens, while also enjoying visits to adjacent Governor Hutchinson’s field. With ongoing projects to care for the beeches, and restore the Barn and Carriage House on-site, we will witness the transformation of history to withstand the present and future.
To help support our gracious host, we ask all families enrolled here to purchase an annual museum membership. With the many events and exhibits found at Forbes, we’re sure you’ll want to use it!
