Forbes House Museum

Here, we play among the massive beech trees and explore the many gardens, while finding joy in a delightfully muddy childhood.

Our Forbes House Museum location offers school year and summer programs for little learners, starting at age 2!

Programs Available at Forbes House Museum

Toddler programs at BOPN focus on the whole child, instilling the social-emotional foundations for preschool readiness. Our early explorers play and learn together, under the guidance of caring, experienced educators. These nature-immersive classes spark curiosity and concentration, build confidence, and foster independence in young children.

To help support our gracious host, we kindly ask all families enrolled here to purchase an annual museum membership. With their many events and exhibits, we’re sure you’ll want to use it! Learn more about the Forbes House Museum.

Meet the
Forbes House Museum

The Forbes House sits atop Milton Hill, on the traditional land of the Neponset Tribe of the Indigenous Massachusett people. Now a museum on the National Register of Historic Places, the house was built in 1833 and four generations of the Forbes family called it home.

The museum offers a look into its own rich history, and hosts a diverse range of exhibits and events which are open to the public.

We are thrilled to partner with the Forbes House Museum, as the next chapter in their story unfolds. With ongoing projects to care for the beeches, and restore the Barn and Carriage House on-site, we will witness the transformation of history to withstand the present and future.
