Emily Yaffe, Substitute Teacher

Emily is an early childhood teacher, passionate about restorative justice and inquiry-led education.

She is also a BOPN parent, and joins us as a Substitute Teacher in Malden while on maternity leave!

Emily is an early childhood teacher passionate about restorative justice and inquiry-led education. For over ten years she has worked in programs that center play and nature exploration at the heart of children’s learning. She finds such joy in bringing the natural world indoors and spending entire days outside with children.

Emily has a B.A. in Education Studies from Brown University.  While earning her Master’s in Child Study and Human Development from Tufts University, she worked at Eliot-Pearson Children’s School at Tufts University and the Charlestown Nursery School. Upon graduating, Emily became a co-lead teacher at Lincoln Nursery School and helped develop their mixed-age preschool/kindergarten program.

When her first child was born, Emily opened Curiosity Cove—a family child care program in Malden. She is now a BOPN parent, and enjoys being a substitute teacher while on maternity leave.
