Sasha Fraser, Teacher

Sasha believes deeply in the power of nature-based learning to cultivate a generation of children who are curious, creative, and playful; and have a deep, meaningful care for the environment.

Her journey began as an educator with Detroit Food Academy, where she taught culinary arts and food justice, and continued developing her pedagogy as a garden educator and high school biology teacher. She has a Master's in Education from Harvard University and graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Environmental Science, where she researched the impact of nature-based learning on children's feelings of hope.

Sasha finds great hope in the transformative and special educational community at BOPN, and is grateful to join us!  She dreams of opening a farm school.
