Hope Olson, Lead Teacher & Admissions Coordinator

Hope fell in love with working with kids when she was a kid herself. Early in life, she found her love for the outdoors which has grown ever since. Hope graduated from St. Lawrence University with a degree in Environmental Studies and Biology and a minor in Outdoor Studies. Her time studying off-campus on an off-the-grid Adirondack Semester and an immersive semester in Kenya developed her interest in outdoor and alternative education. Hope’s passion for nature and working with children combined perfectly, leading her to BOPN!

Hope has worked with young children for nearly ten years, at summer camps, teaching swim lessons, babysitting, nannying, and volunteer coaching. She loves being a supportive and encouraging part of children’s lives and helping them develop into the best version of themselves. Educating with nature allows children to develop an environmental consciousness, something that is important for everyone in today’s world.

Hope’s role at BOPN is a nice balance of teaching in the mornings and admissions coordinating in the afternoons.

In her spare time, Hope enjoys running, hiking, skiing, doing yoga, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
