Cassie Stanish, Intern
She finds nature to be her sanctuary and takes a special interest in sharing her passion with others.
Cassie is a student working to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Sustainability minor. While she is not studying education, it is something that she holds close to her heart. In high school, she helped lead several clubs and classes dedicated to STEM education for young children in her local community. She has several years of experience working with young students and the public to raise awareness of conservation efforts and teaching about our natural world. As a scout she extended this love for teaching to her younger troop members. In college, she works on her campus in STEM outreach to teach workshops and attend community events. She loves any chance to share in the joy of teaching others.
Cassie has always had an immense appreciation for nature. Even today, she finds nature to be her sanctuary and takes a special interest in sharing her passion with others. She takes a particular interest in areas of biomimicry which includes learning from nature. The BOPN combines all of these interests and allows her to see the world through the eyes of children, often introducing new and creative ways of thinking.
In her spare time, Cassie loves to hike, kayak, swim, snorkel and explore. She can often be found somewhere outside with her dogs, family, or friends.
