Carlea Dolcine, Teacher

Carlea has both seen in others and herself how transformative it can be for youth (and adults) to spend time connecting with the natural world.

Carlea grew up in Somerville and as a child would jump at any chance to get outdoors! She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor’s in psychology and African American studies and a certificate in Civic Engagement and Public Service.

Carlea previously taught at BOPN for summer 2022, and also spent 5 summers as a camp counselor at the summer camp she attended as a child. These experiences have shown her how transformative it can be for youth (and adults) to connect with the natural world.

After a year working in the social services field, Carlea is excited to return to teach young children outdoors at BOPN! When not teaching, Carlea enjoys doing crafts, learning to roller skate, and spending time with friends.
