Hope Olson, Lead Teacher & Admissions Coordinator
Hope has an endless love for time spent outdoors, and feels so grateful to share that love with BOPN children each day!
Her fascination for exploring in nature has developed since childhood—when she would climb trees, build fairy houses, and go for hikes with her family. Nature has always been her place to unwind, find joy, share with friends and family, and where she can bring any emotion.
In college, Hope studied Environmental Studies, Biology, and Outdoor Studies. Her interest in outdoor and alternative education developed during off-campus studies at an off-the-grid Adirondack Semester, and an immersive semester in Kenya.
Along with nature, Hope has a longtime relationship working with children—at summer camps, teaching swim lessons, babysitting, nannying, and volunteer coaching. She loves being a supportive and encouraging part of children’s lives, and helping them develop into themselves. Hope fully believes in the importance of learning in nature, connecting with a place and the world around us. She loves helping foster children’s curiosity, and wonder of the natural world.
Hope’s passions for nature, education, and working with children combine perfectly for teaching at BOPN! After leading morning classes at the Arboretum, she serves as BOPN’s Admissions Coordinator in the afternoons.
