Sue LaChance, Chief of Staff
Sue joins BOPN in the newly created role of Chief of Staff, supporting Sarah Besse and every staff member in nurturing a culture at BOPN where every child, parent, and team member thrives.
Sue will be collaboratively designing initiatives directed at improving organizational outcomes; and will work across teams and departments to build stronger connections, consistency in practices, and coaching for—while celebrating in—individual and team success.
Sue has been a lifelong educator, starting at the age of 16 teaching puppetry classes to preschoolers, teaching English in Japan to K-80 year-olds, working avocationally as a Dale Carnegie instructor, and settling into a career in Professional and Leadership Development in the fields of non-profit healthcare, engineering, high tech and environmental consulting. She left her most recent job to bicycle across the country this spring - and is now happily landing in this role where she can apply her years of experience to fortify the brilliant team and energy at BOPN.
During the winter, you will find Sue at Weston Ski track, coaching the youth cross country ski program—yes, in all kinds of weather! During the rest of year, she loves mixing it up on the trails (either running or cycling) and of course playing in the dirt at her local community garden.
Sue has 2 adult children, Max and Sam, who both live out west. She lives in Concord with her partner Mike, and her cat, Chai.
